Is it just me? Or are you also getting over sheer lace sleeves?
You know the look.
Long lace, embellished sleeves over a sweetheart neckline designed to show off maximum cleavage, followed by figure-hugging silhouette that explodes into layers of tulle…top it off with the highest possible bun on the head accompanied by a lace, embellished hairpiece finished off with… you guessed it… more tulle explosion in the form of a veil.
I cannot be the only one getting over this look.
It’s not limited to non-hijab brides either. Even hijabi brides are getting in on the lace and tulle sheath silhouette action. Just line the sheer lace with some fabric and cover the hair with a cap.
Here’s my challenge to all brides out there:
Keep it simple.
If one must have lace or embellishments, use it as an exquisite addition.
I remember when I was a bride-to-be trying on dresses. The full lace gown looked pretty on the rack but when I tried it on, I felt like it had just aged me. Honestly, I felt like a curtain.
Here are some alternatives that I would take over the look described above ANY DAY.
1. Chloe- So it has a plunging neckline. This can be easily remedied though by possibly adding a heavily beaded fabric to cover that deep V.
2. Jenny Packham
3. Natsumi Zama
4. Rachel Gilbert
5. Rosa Clara- bun and headpiece done right
6. Dennis Basso
