The Spring 2015 Haute Couture runways have only confirmed that covering up is more than just a trend- it’s a style staple, classic…a must. My absolute favourite was Giambittista Valli. I had only been reading about how tunics over pants were trending over on Instyle Magazine a few days prior to the show and look what Valli whipped out… A whole slew of long tunics over wide leg pants no less. Of course, it’s not that this is a groundbreaking idea for me. I’ve been wearing this ‘trend’ for years now…and I say that without arrogance. If you’re a hijabi, you would have ALL worn this ‘trend’ at some point or another.
What Valli did that was different however was making it an evening wear trend. O.M.G. The stunning, ethereal floral designs complemented by dramatic capes in (faux hopefully) fur or layers of ruffles was, to put it simply, jaw dropping.
The evening gowns were just as beautiful and awe-inspiring in their spring palettes and incredible floral detail.
I’m totally, utterly, in love…
