We’re kicking off our review of New York Bridal Fashion Week 2015 with Australian bridal designer Anna Campbell, who debuted the worldwide release of her Gossamer Collection. We sent our NY representative Nilufar to the show to see the dresses in the flesh.
Anna said of the show, “My dreams were always big! I shared my vision of one day selling dresses all over the world with my (now) fiancé on our first ever date. To see it happening now is truly incredible.”
Models walked with dewy bronzed skin and softly tousled hair, the perfect accompaniment to the intricate embellishments, opulent fabrics and feminine fits that the label is so well known for. In person, these trademark details were even more breathtaking.
Whilst the designer has held private showings in New York twice before, she had always hoped to show her dresses on the runway.
“A certain feeling comes from a runway event, which is only really paralleled by the feeling of watching a loved one walk down the aisle. It was just so exciting, I held my breath and felt my heart walk down the catwalk with each dress,” she said.
And although the dresses aren’t exactly the most modest, there was plenty to inspire in the embellished cap sleeve designs, flowing silhouettes, lace skirts with chiffon overlays and particularly the headpieces, which can be a perfect accompaniment to a headscarf.
The Anna Campbell Gossamer Collection will be travelling Europe and North America in trunk shows from November 2015. The entire Anna Campbell range is available for purchase from Anna Campbell Boutiques, worldwide stockists and the Anna Campbell online store at www.annacampbell.com.au.
