NYFW Fall/Winter 2016

The Fall Ready-to-wear collections at NYFW this year had plenty of modest inspiration sent down the runways. They tended to lean towards the dramatic, as opposed to the sleeker minimalism of previous years. Decadent beaded detailing seemed to feature in many collections. Marchesa simply took my breath away with every single gown with all their bejewelled states. I loved Delpozo’s kimono inspired coat/dress and the 3D floral half sleeves. And I’m itching to try out the pearl stacked chokers from the Zimmerman runway. They are such a clever way of covering the neck. But the colour palette and Zimmerman was pure genius…

My favourite though was Rachel Zoe and the panels of lace with a sleek white textured blazer thrown on top. So chic and very ‘Modest Bride’…
